Pauric is an independent singer-songwriter from Co. Tipperary, based in Dublin. He has been making his mark on the Irish music scene for quite a few years since his time on The Voice. His raw, powerful vocal has been known to grab people’s attention across many places and many stages.
With the release of his EP ‘Looking Forward To Hindsight’ in 2020 gathering over sixty thousand streams since their individual releases, widespread radio play and shows booked in Ireland, England, Scotland Germany, and America, 2020 looked set to be Pauric’s biggest year yet! But with his Whelan’s Dublin show hitting sell-out, his cork show nearing sell-out, and his acclaimed single release in Final Say, 2021/22 has the potential to be even bigger!
Through the years, he has also performed in many top venues around Ireland supporting bands such as Hermitage Green, Hudson Taylor, Billow Wood, Amazing Apples, and HAWK but had a breakthrough year in 2019, with two successful headline shows in Dublin in The Soundhouse and Workman’s Club, as well as making his Electric Picnic Festival debut.

More:
Introducing Pauric O’Meara, an established independent artist, where 2020 saw him release his radio popular single,  Techno or Rnb, as well his well-received EP – Looking forward to Hindsight, which contained the singles Is This Real?, Wasting Time and Beacon Call, which together gathered over 60 thousand streams on Spotify alone, as well as gaining vast recognition for his cinematic video from Is This Real? and lockdown uplifter Beacon Call.
‘Final Say’ is an exploration of a relationship that was prevented from reaching its full potential as a result of external circumstances causing unfillable cracks.
In order to carry on, or move on, it’s important to go either way with a clear mind or conscience so that all involved can hold their heads up high, and essentially, have the ‘Final Say’.
Unfortunately, as is portrayed through Paurics ability to musically set the mood and lyrically tell the story, this becomes difficult to achieve when all involved do not have the same idea, however, being happy with the effort you made can act as the last word in itself.

LYRICS:

You went searching
Yet I’m the one that’s calling out

My mind is thumping
Like your temperamental heartbeat
It’s allowed

I couldn’t see you
Was this the last time that I might have been
So close to the
Permanent smile occupies my dreams

You can’t shake, the overwhelming feeling
I’m not phased
If it’s another chance I’m stealing

Can’t keep on holding on
This time you watched it slip away
Through this, I tried to be strong
So we could have the final say

Can’t keep on holding on
This time you watched it slip away
Through this, I tried to be strong
So we could have the final say

Left we wondering
Was I enough for you so insecure
Was all my loving shown
In an unforgiving way knocked to the core

Did I not show how
The ghosts of both our pasts
We would have never been

You couldn’t hold out
For the love that no1 else has ever seen

You can’t shake, the overwhelming feeling
I’m not phased
If it’s another chance I’m stealing

Can’t keep on holding on
This time you watched it slip away
Through this, I tried to be strong
So we could have the final say

Can’t keep on holding on
This time you watched it slip away
Through this, I tried to be strong
So we could have the final say

Keep Holding, Keep Holding on

Keep holding
Yet I’m the one that’s calling out

Oh you went searching
Yet I’m the one that’s calling out

Yet I’m the one that’s calling out

Tell us what your fans are saying about your music.
My fans love my music! They always comment on how it makes them feel, which is what I aim to achieve. My music takes the listeners on a journey!

Tell us the factors you consider when writing a song.
Is it truthful?
Will people relate?
Would I listen to it?
Those three questions are what I always ask myself when writing!

Discuss the production of the song.

The song was originally produced in my bedroom during the lockdown, and it was then brought to my producer Michael Heffernan, and together we were able to bring the song to the next level!

Tell us your best mood to create a song.

Mood makes little difference to me. All that the mood changes is the style of the music; the quality of the music very rarely falls. The only time I can’t create music is when I’m tired, I need to be alert or I meet a writer’s block quite early in the process!

Tell us the names of artists or musicians you have worked with, in the past.
I work with many musicians on a co-writing level, but I have never brought any of the projects to fruition. Very soon though!

Tell us about your experience performing on stage for the first time or recording in the studio for the first time.
My first time on a stage was the moment I knew that it was what I wanted to do for a living. My first time in a studio is where I realized that it’s was possible, that my music was good enough and with the right attitude, it doesn’t need to be the last…

Tell us how you approach songwriting.
I approach songwriting with love and care. I don’t view it as a job that needs to be done; I view it as a piece of art that will take its journey before arriving at the final product.

Tell us your opinion on blending genres or experimenting with sound.
Listen to my music, and I think it’s clear what my opinion is. I love it, I think the music of multi genres is the music that resonates with me on more levels than one, which is what I’m trying to achieve in my own music.

Elaborate on what compels you to go into music.
The love for it… I’m at my happiest when surrounded by music. Nothing fazes me and it most definitely provides an escape from the real world.

Discuss how you record your vocals.
The same process as the rest, I record myself at home with my setup, and bring it to the magician to make it radio ready!

Tell us the software you use mostly for recording.

Logic X, all day every day. For me, it’s the best for what I want to use it for.
